David Carpenter

David Carpenter is a Partner with Cutcher & Neale and is part of our Business Services division.

David joined Cutcher & Neale in 1987 and has been a partner since 1997.

David commenced his career as a trainee with Cutcher & Neale in 1987. After graduating from the University of Newcastle in 1989 he completed his post graduate studies with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1992 where he obtained his Chartered Accountant qualification. He headed up the practice’s implementation of GST throughout the client base in 2000.

His qualifications include Bachelor of Commerce from Newcastle University and Chartered Accountant from ICAA.

David is a Fellow of Institute of Taxation and a member of the Australian Institute of Management.

He also has extensive experience assisting SME’s in the industrial sector in dealing with their accounting, taxation and business advisory needs.

David’s expertise is in the following areas:

Phillip Smith
B.Com. F.C.A. F.FIN. CFP.SSA

Phillip Smith is a Partner with Cutcher & Neale and oversees Cutcher & Neale Investment Services division.

Phillip is a commerce graduate from the University of Newcastle and a Chartered Accountant since 1986.

Phillip first joined Cutcher & Neale in 1986 before leaving in 1988 to work abroad, returning in 1994.

During this time overseas he worked as a manager in the Treasury area of leading Merchant Bank, Hill Samuel in London before returning to Australia in 1990. To 1994 he had been working in treasury consulting in Australia and South - East Asia.

In 1993 he completed the Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment where he was acknowledged in the top 20 candidates out of over 230 in the State.

Phillip is a Certified Financial Planner of the Financial Planning Association, Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, an Associate of the Securities Institute of Australia and Specialist member of the Self Managed Super Fund Professionals Association of Australia.

 

 

Mark O’Connor
B.Com. C.A.

Mark O’Connor is a Partner with Cutcher & Neale and oversees our Risk and Assurance Team.

Mark joined Cutcher & Neale in 1992 and has been a partner since 2002.

Mark has been employed by Cutcher & Neale for over 11 years as a specialist auditor and was admitted to Partnership on 1 July 2002. He services clients within a range of industries including grant funded bodies, the building and construction industry, mining, and registered clubs.

During period 31 March 2001 to 31 December 2001 Mark gained experience in working within a finance role based in London. The role with US Bank State Street Bank & Trust included responsibilities for monthly management reporting and implementation of systems to improve the efficiency and accuracy of monthly reporting and budgetary controls.

His qualifications include Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Newcastle, Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, a Registered Company Auditor and Certified Internal Auditor.  

Mark is a Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Member Australian Financial Institute Auditors Association, ICAA Business Valuations Special Interest Group and ICAA Forensic Accounting Special Interest Group.

Mark's expertise is in the following areas:

Jarrod Bramble
B.Com. C.A.

Jarrod Bramble is a Partner with Cutcher & Neale and is part of our Business Services Division.  Jarrod joined Cutcher & Neale in 1998 and has been a partner since 2004.

With extensive experience in business development, financial analysis and corporate restructuring, Jarrod has also implemented policies and assisted with salary packaging for various clients. 

Prior to working with Cutcher & Neale, Jarrod completed a successful term working at Deutsche Bank in London and for a number of years he held the position of Finance Director for the Newcastle Basketball Association.

An accomplished speaker and commentator, Jarrod has featured in Asset Magazine, Medical Observer and Professional life.

Ian Neale

Ian Neale is a Partner with Cutcher & Neale and is part of our Business Services division.

Ian joined Cutcher & Neale in 1985 after seven years as an auditor with Coopers and Lybrand.  Ian has been a partner since 1990.

A Club Industry specialist with over 20 years experience, assisting and advising clients in a diverse range of businesses.

His qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Newcastle, Certified Financial Planner of the Financial Planning Association and a registered Company Auditor.

Ian is a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and Specialist member of the Self Managed Super Fund Professionals Association of Australia.

Sandy MacNeill
B.Com. F.C.A.

Sandy MacNeill is a Partner with Cutcher & Neale and oversees our Accounting and Taxation Services division.

Sandy joined Cutcher & Neale in 1966, became an Associate of the firm in July 1980 and was invited to join as a Partner in 1982.

Sandy was the first member of staff to be employed directly from school, complete his degree, achieve Institute of Chartered Accountants membership and become a principle of his former employer.

Born in Tamworth and educated in Newcastle, Sandy has qualifications in business and accounting which include a Bachelor of Commerce, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia and a Fellow of Institute of Taxation .

A life member of the Newcastle and NSW Rugby Referees Associations, Sandy has refereed 16 international games and is an international referee performance reviewer.

Robert Taber

Robert Taber is a Partner with Cutcher & Neale and is part of our Business Services division.
