This table above provides an analysis of our clubs’ bar, gaming machine and total revenue for the latest quarters being September 2021, December 2021, March 2022 and YTD of the 2022 financial year.
The March 2022 quarter has seen clubs start to improve again with some excellent gaming results in March and this has flown into April and May.
At this stage, the June 22 quarter is looking good for clubs. It is noted that total revenue also includes government subsidies such as Jobkeeper, cashflow boost, small business grants and Jobsaver.
Comparison this year to last year is tough with COVID-19 closures and social distancing impacting both this year and previous years’ results.
As you are well aware, the commencement of the 2022 financial year has been a disaster for clubs, with COVID-19 forcing clubs into closures throughout most of the state at some point in time.
Whilst most clubs were able to re-open in October, the latest Omicron variant also impacted on club’s trade in December 2021 and January 2022.
This especially had an impact on on functions, with a high percentage being cancelled and experiencing reduced patronage levels leading in the Christmas and New Year periods.
