Shane Morgan brings a unique depth of expertise to his clients, combining his accounting and tax knowledge with a Financial Planning degree and a strong interest in Self Managed Superannuation Funds. This combination allows him to guide clients beyond the numbers, offering clarity around their goals and helping them align financial strategies with life objectives.
Shane’s career in accounting began with a simple piece of advice from a careers adviser in Year 8 to pursue accounting. From there, he never looked back. After finishing school, Shane took up a trainee role with a Newcastle accounting firm while studying at university at night. Seven years later, his career took him abroad to London, where he worked as a commercial accountant for a publishing company and for Billiton PLC. On returning to Australia, Shane built further experience in Sydney. But, it wasn’t long before Newcastle called him home and in 2005 he joined Cutcher & Neale.
Recognised for his industry contributions, Shane has received the SMSF Association’s Chairman’s Award and was named SMSF Advisor of the Year by Accountant’s Daily in 2017. Clients and colleagues alike describe him as trustworthy, honest, and professional. Outside the office, Shane enjoys pushing his limits, he has completed three marathons at different stages of life and fitness.
